In March 2006 I quit my job to draw comics full time. The main result of this is my Monday-to-Friday newspaper-style all-ages comic strip, Basic Wage Kids, which can be found at http://www.24hourcynic.com. The first print collection of Basic Wage Kids can be bought online here.
Prior to Basic Wage Kids, I did a weekly mature-audiences webcomic called 5031 (occasionally co-written by Kuba Kabacinski) from 2004 to 2006. The archives can be found at http://5031.24hourcynic.com. The entire 18-month run is printed in a three-issue miniseries which can be bought online here: issue #1, issue #2 and issue #3.
In 2004 I received the $2,000 Bill Mitchell Memorial Award for budding cartoonists from the The Australian newspaper in conjunction with the Australian Cartoonists' Association.
In 2003 I published How To Save The World: A Beginner’s Guide, a teen-oriented comedy adventure in the vein of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. This 48-page comic book was published with the aid of a grant from the South Australian government through the South Australian Youth Arts Board and can be bought online here.
I have also had comics and cartoons published in The Weekend Australian, Operation Funnybone, Da ‘n’ Dill, Pop Culture & 2 Minute Noodles, dB Magazine, Rip It Up Magazine, X-Press magazine, The Ink, Meus Officium Est Abyssus, Fist Full Of Comics, Kanga-Noos and more.
This LiveJournal will showcase various comics I’ve done - some old, some new - as well as relate my attempts to try and make a living out of this crazy medium.
